About Me

Hi, my name is Nathan Gist and I am teaching LA and Social for grade 3 this year for Wells International School in Bangkok, Thailand.  I have also created the New Creative Public Speaking and Youth Fitness Class for Wells and have been running these programs for the last 2 years.  I have been in Thailand for over 5 years now and have taught at both the private and international school level.   While in America I worked as a radio producer and on-air personality for Positve Hits 89.9 PER.   I am also a personal trainer and have enjoyed the privilege of teaching both young and old the benefits of fitness.  While living in Virginia I spent 3 years as a substitute teacher for Liberty and Rappahannock High Schools and also worked for a wonderful organization called Child Help. As a Child Care Counselor at Child Help I was able to work with both physically and emotionally abused children, helping to provide them with the love and support they needed to put the pieces of their lives together again.  During these early years I have come to realize that children are the greatest resource we have and if we can cultivate their needs and imagination they can accomplish anything!

  1. Hi Nathan,
I love your site! I am the mother of eight children and an inspirational speaker who is teaching two Jr. Speech classes this year along with leading a Speech and Debate club for high schoolers. These are all home schooled kids and they are diving in with both feet so I need lots of ideas to stay ahead of them. Your site has inspired me. Thanks so much.
Our eldest son is teaching English is Korea this year so I will send him here for some ideas.
