Weird, wacky and uh…. did I say weird? I guess you never know who could show up to a Creative Public Speaking class =) Over the last couple of weeks we have been writing scripts, practicing and recording our monologues. Some students created story lines with each other, some were straight faced and some… well, to use their words, lost their minds! Below are some of our creations! Enjoy!

Caught on a rainy day? Having taught in Thailand for the past few years, rain is something that comes up often during certain seasons. However, there are still a lot of fun and engaging activities you can do within the confines of a small room or gym. After some initial warms ups and stretches, today’ activity was crab soccer. This is a great team building game you can play with your athletes. Some of the health and fitness benefits include;
Set up is pretty simple. This game is best suited for inside of a gym or room with no breakables. Playing outside is possible, but usually a room is better. If players are chasing after the ball too often they tire out too quickly. The game is meant to be fast paced and lots of fun!
Keep an eye on the players and try not to let them bunch up or use any dangerous kicks. If students wear glasses it would be advisable to have them take them off and place them outside of the room.
Here is a clip from our last game!
The idea behind this game is to help develop both acceleration and deceleration. The goal of the game is to take the rings either from the middle circle or from any of your opponents circles. At the end of 45 seconds the person with the most rings wins =)
Take a look!
I’m always looking for new and exciting ways to teach fitness, public speaking or any another other vaulable activities for kids. If you have any suggestions or know of a good website please comment below!
Today in Creative Public Speaking Grades 1 and 2 learned about the importance of communicating clearly. We played the Whisper Game and soon realized that getting people to really listen and understand what we are saying can sometimes be difficult. So, we should always take our time and make sure that what we are saying is clear and that we should also be a good listener when other people are speaking.
Here is a video of today’s game in two parts!
